How to record audio from my computer

I'm an audio noob, so help me out.

I'm trying to record a clip off a video from [Insert site name here] and I need both the video and audio from it. I'm able to record the video just fine using Snag It, but it records my microphone. I watched a few tutorials on how to set it to record audio from my computer, but my only option for audio recording is my microphone.

Most of the videos I watched showed something called C-media wave audio as the choice on their computers. I don't have this. Will downloading the drivers for this work for my computer, or do I have to download drivers specific to my on board sound manufacturer/model?

change your recording source to "wave out"

Check to see if you have stereo mix.

If you do, make sure its on. If its on, turn it off.

You need drivers specific to your onboard sound card. Do you know what it might be?

If you are unsure, then tell us what make and model of motherboard you have if you know. If you don't know then try PC Wizard I believe it should be able to tell you all the info you need. Been a while size I used it myself though.

If your using FF just get some addon that lets you download videos from youtube :P
