Wheres the Green and Yellow?
For the sake of variety, I'd like to see map makers and the FF developement team incorporate more Yellow Vs. Green CTF maps. I think this would give the game a greater sense of depth as the classic Blue vs. Red can often become repetitive. Yes, this may seem like a simple and minute point , but I believe it could give the overall game a greater sense of variety and perhaps open up the potential for somewhat of a story line. (I've heard people refering to the teams as tribes/clans fighting eachother) Might be especially appealing to newer players.
I never understood why the trend was to stay with the classic red vs blue while the green and yellow teams were often neglected. ![]() |

There were no green and yellow colored textures in Half-Life / TFC, and so the green and yellow teams quickly became the teams used in extemporaneous gameplay situations.
Jon and I are going to coerce the maker-of-textures into making yellow and green textures for every red and blue texture. She will be mine. Oh yes... |

It's generally just because red v blue signifies two teams, yellow is the third team and green the fourth. I understand your point, but the use of yellow/green are synonymous with maps involving two teams or greater

yellow and green....sounds really cool but wouldnt this meen more texture work and more entities work for dev team? I mean you would have to make a info_greenspawn, info_yellowspawn already wiht ur info_blue/red spawns entities and u would more team logos and diff colored flags wiht the team logo on them. Do you guys mind the more work?

Entities don't work like that. You just create one entity entry in the .fgd and then have different teams set as a property of the entity. It's not really a case of more/less work stopping us from doing yellow v green, it'd just change the fact that red & blue is synonymous with two team maps.

I'd like to see some Green vs. Blue maps. I don't know why. I've always seen the Green and Red guys as the good guys. The Blue and Yellow must die!

Yeah, how are you coming up with Red as a Good guy? O_o
Red = Color of Blood, Just about every horror film text color ever made, etc I agree with the above Green & Blue = Good, Yellow & Red = Evil/Bad (You could also think of it like a stoplight, Red being go, yellow & Red being caution/stop, dunno where blue fits into that one :P) |

Red had a skull for their logo = death and mayhem = evil
Blue had a fortress = defenders and protectors = good Yellow had a drawn sword = attackers and warmongers = G.W.Bush = Evil Green had a lion figure = braveness and valor = good |

The idea of having other team colors would be nice for mappers wanting to have a color theme that matched the map. Blue and green might be a good team combination for nature maps or aztec style maps while red and yellow would be good for desert/hot maps. Team Fortress, theme fortress, it's all the same

Anyway, I thought that it was always Red and Yellow as the "bad" guys, and green and blue as the good ones. However, the way the menus lay them out, yellow and blue are the good guys, and red and green are the bad guys. |

question for the ff dev team. Since you guys are goining to make green and yellow textures already wiht the red and blue can u guys make a texture that is just one color. Like so it has grains in just one color so we can use it for borders on curves, eges, floor edges. It woudl be great thx

![]() To me CTF is always classicly Red vs Blue. You can use the other teams, and it wouldn't be bad or negative, but it wouldn't be classicle either. |

I wouldnt like to see yellow v green being the norm on any maps, simply because those colours arent as noticiably different as red and blue are...just look at the green v yellow pipe debate for example.

i would love to see more of green, since it is the colour most used by military. Red vs. Green battle would be cool. Even thought i would still stick with red, i would like to see more green.
