problems installing fortress forever with steam...
I've read all the threads about install issues. FF does not show up on my games list and I've tried all the shortcut's that were posted in the other thread and it still doesn't work. i also downloaded and installed Sixense SDK or whatever. i didn't see anything called source sdk.

You need Source SDK Base to play FF or any HL2 mods. If you do not see it under the Tools section of Steam, then you probably don't have access to it. This is what you're looking for:
