i just bought a saitek eclipse 2 from best buy. my gf is taking it back right now to exchange it for another one, because the one i got was damaged (missing the tabs to adjust the height, and with a chunk taken out of the back. oh, and the spacebare= wasnt hooked up the way it should be). i got it because i loved the feel of it, and the backlighting is grade A (i like playing in the dark). hopefully when i get one that isnt damaged, i can give a better recommendation... (fucking best buy)

Jesus man, I could totally have a function for everything I do. I could have a pic of some hawt ladie, and it'd open my pr0n folder.

Anywho, my favorite thing about this keyboard would be that you can change things on the fly, if you hit caps lock, the visuals of the fonts change from lower case to upper case immediately. Also, I love the software, I could upload an image, like the Fortress Forever banner up at the top, and make it the background for my keyboard.

i just wrote a paper and played UT3 for 2 hours on my new saitek eclipse, and its the best keyboard i have ever used. my girlfriend is tuckered out, so she is sleeping and i was playing in the dark thanks to the awesome backlighting, and the key action is very solid. <3 it.

and is the maximus even released yet? that thing has been delayed almost as much as duke nukem forever...

I read it was possible to replace broken leds in it, dunno if it's true or not.

My keyboard is pretty much like this one. It's from 1999 and still works to this day.

Every year or so I pop out all the keys, shake out all the bits of junk, clean it, etc. and it always works. It has served me faithfully for years and probably will for many more.

^You can acchieve that with a touchscreen in combination with a "normal" display. hmm, this gives me an idea for my suitcasepc...

Just for the sake of saying so, I also have a Saitek Eclipse II. It's a nice mid-level keyboard.

It looks nice, has a nice solid weight and feel to it, backlight isn't as bright as you might expect, only just bright enough really. A good keyboard for the price. What you'd expect, I think.

The lettering on the keys are etched on, no ink. So don't understand how they can wear.

Most people will be happy with this KB. Of course it depends on your expectancies. It looks like you're after something fancier/higher quality.
