Have that fire extinguisher be his melee weapon, with the alt-fire being spraying the extinguisher. The primary could be to whack somebody with it.

BRILLIANT!
I think that is fantastic, lose the crowbar, beat someone to death with a fire extinguisher, I love it. But I have to say I didnt think of the fire extinguisher, it was already mentioned earlier in the thread.

Who is going to stand around and wait for you to do that?
And whats the difference between that and a crowbar beating? |

wow this thread's still going strong?
i think the pyro should run round with a fire blanket over his head with two eyeholes cut out, then run round randomly with his arms in the air |

Naw Pyro needs a fireaxe instead of crowbar.
Either the classic red one: or a more stylish one like this: |

Nah, he needs a hybrid electro-hydraulic cutter, and a good oxide torch incase he can't cut the Nader bolts or the posts.

feel like putting my 2 cents in.
the shock trooper is a neat idea but i love the pyro and definitely want him to stay. I know he is a little harder to play and could be tweaked in certain areas but i dont think i could see a new fortress mod without seeing a guy with a flamethrower. |

If I've said it once, I'm said it a BILLION TIMES.
FF is a TF game. Pyro is a standerd class is TF. Your "Shock Trooper" is NOT a standerd class in TF. So if FF is a TF game, it would probably have the class which is IN TF games, not a class created by a fan who thinks that the origanel class isn't good enough for game play. The Pyro works. Plenty of people play as pyro. While I can see some changes to the class (Maybe give them rocket jumping?), the class should NO be dumped and replaced by a new class. Many classes don't get a lot of play. This isn't because they are bad classes and need to be replaced, but they are often only used when needed (or by people who play them very well). I don't normaly play Demo but if I'm playing Dust Bowl and we need one, I'll swich out of Engi or HW and go to Demo. I don't normaly play Pyro but if I feel that it would be useful, I'll do it! I happen to like the Pyro Class but I don't play it offten BC I'm REALLY BAD at rocket weapons. This is the same reason that I NEVER play soldier. Pyro my also been seen as a weak class BC they are compared with the soldier which is not only very powerful, but gets TONS of game play. Soldiers can Rocket Jump and their rockets can kill in one or two shots and can toss the enemy far into the air so they fall to thier death. The Pyro's rockets can't do this and their flame thrower is very weak if you don't know how to use it. |

I have the highest doubts that the dev team is going to change a class. Partially because they said they aren't going to remove or change any classes. But also... no nevermind that's enough.
Why is this a discussion? |

The pyro is an offensive player. His strat is to spray the D with flames to blind them so he can get close enough to get some chops in. He kinda would fight like a spy except he'd use blinding flames instead of a tranq to get close to his victims. I do believe this would actually make the pyro more useful. Anyways just my two cents. |

About the extinguisher, anybody see the French movie "Irréversible"? Guy gets his head bashed in, very realistic. I got a flashback when the topic was raised. Andargor |
