I was actually rather disappointed with FFs lack of BLACK SCOTTISH CYCLOPS.

It is good time to bring new players into FF who wants challenging game. Devs should make game more newb friendly, especially to people that never played a TF game.

Yeah I played more FF until recently. I went to TF2 because of the Pyro update. I played around with it for a bit got the new weapons and had some fun but now I'm bored with it again. But I tihnk I have been playing more than FF recently. I'm just sort of sick of the same maps all the time on FF. There are some great maps that never get in rotation. I check the FF servers a lot and most of the time it's maps that I have played a lot so I end up playing TF2. But I usually find it to be lacking.

As for the new player friendly-ness of FF I find it to be not that bad. I mean I had only played TFC for a month before I got FF. I didn't really know anything and just the players of FF were enough for me to learn about stuff. I did also read the manual which is pretty good for new players. Hopefully in 2.1 the more maps will be played and accessibility will be a little higher even though I think it's not that bad now.
