uBeR brought up the use of the word negro in the 2010 census. Do you feel the use of this word is appropriate?

If I see "African-American" on the census forms... I'm going to scratch it out and write either "Black" or "Negro".

They are actually going to have all three together on the form because apparently people have trouble figuring it out, kinda like Caucasian/White.

Sorry, I only enjoy census that aren't done by the federal government, as stated by the Constitution. I.E. My local district doing it.

Perhaps you should first get acquainted with the Constitution before commenting on it.

Here's section 2 of Article 1:
"The actual Enumeration shall be made within three years after the first meeting of the Congress of the United States, and within every subsequent term of ten years, in such manner as they shall by law direct."

By chance, did you actually read my post? Because, it doesn't look like you did. At all.

The final bill, Statute 2 of March 1, 1790, provided that census marshals be appointed, directed to "cause the number of the inhabitants within their respective districts to be taken; omitting in such enumeration Indians not taxed, and distinguishing free persons, including those bound to service for a term of years, from all others; distinguishing also the sexes and colours of free persons, and the free males of sixteen years and upwards from those under that age."

I've been told by Blacks that Political Correctness when is comes to them is an annoyance. There isn't a single term which is truly accepted by the whole African-American community.

African-American is offensive because they aren't African.
Black is offensive because you are referring to them by skin color.
Negro is offensive because of it's use over time.

Truthfully, does it really matter? I'm technically Latino. Word Motherfuckers. Word.

Boohoo black is offensive. Black and white make the most sense to me, it's a pretty definitive descriptor.

Yeah, it's stupid that census ask social construct information. They should ask people about their genome. Hey, please list out your genes so we know who and what you are.
