Starcraft II

The Zerg

Ugh...I think I am suffering PTSD from too many Zergling rushes...

Looks like it will stay true to the original in many respects. Even saw some photon cannon blocking going on.

But, I wonder what the map editor will be like... and if DotA will be ported (bound to happen eventually).

Not professional matches but I watched some guys playing on a LAN during an early morning lull at a private /TMP lan in Oregon. Watching them hotkey everything and bounce all over made me never want to play online. It just didn't look like fun to me.

Lol me too, I used that strategy with the zerg's creep colony too. Which is actually more effective because you can grow way faster than you can with photon cannons. The right mix of sunken/spore colonies works, and takes away any chances for someone to build close by.

Man I love starcraft soo many strategies, soo well balanced the arguement over which race is ultimately best is endless, because it all depended on how you played it, and how you countered your opponent's moves.

I had everything hotkeyed too, man that was lots of fun, zerg it was the easiest, I'd just hotkey 10 Hives, set rally points, then all I'd hit would be 1>S>Z, 2>S>Z, 3>S>Z.... 0>S>Z.

Then in less than a minute I'd have 60 zerglings, and before that batch was done, the next batch of 3 larva would be almost ready.

I love how the term "zerging" is now widely used in many games because who doesn't know what and how to zerg?!

You consider Starcraft an rpg? Man I always thought it as a RTS. Stuff like Baulder's gate, or Diablo are what I consider rpg's.

Yep, RTS. Being more of a defensive player that loves to ogle the eye candy I could never play competitively...just doesn't look fun.

I can't remember which map it was but I remember this one map with a nice choke point entrance to the Terran base. A handful of tanks in Siege mode on an elevated rise overlooking the lower entrance and 3 or 4 or those protected pillboxes (or whatever they were called) filled with marines and I was good to go.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/StarCra...al_competition

Lists every major player in all the pro matches for StarCraft, including those competitions that are hosted only in Korea for the sake of Korean gaming...

omg FINALLY.

This looks very, very, very nice. I am much more excited about the Zerg now, and any doubts I had about them have completely vanished. Kudos to Blizzard.

As for professional stuff, I find pro matches boring. Look, his Marines shot at the Zerglings! And now the Marines have retreated while the Zerglings advanced! And now the Marines shot at them again! And now they're retreating again! Bah.

Does anyone have video links to some of these supposedly "exciting" matches? -.-

"Star" Craft.

Stars = Hollywood or Space. There's no Tom Cruise in that game, so it obviously means space, as in it takes place in the Space. Most people can't breathe on planets without oxygen, so they wear Space Suits because they are human. And they are weird because it makes them be cooler and more advanced than those white suits the astronauts wear.

I hope that made sense!
