I still play, although the past couple of months have been the Fall busy season at work, and I've little time to play. In the evenings, I wouldn't mind someone hitting me up to play. If we could get a small group to hit a server, it would probably get some more people to play.

FF is good, And a fine restyle of tfc and if you think otherwise please enlighten me (I get a feeling alot people here dislike it.. what are they doing here

So that in the first place and when ff launch the 2.5 update when its finished allot folks arround here will try it out.
Meaby some players here dont play it now, (Even i play it not very often anymore, because a few hardware problems)
But when the patch come out i will try it, And more people will and the the servers are alot more filled with people then so its funnier to play again and if the 2.5 patch make the game more smooth again then they will stick to it.

ff is great i like the classic gameplay

(Hey, he asked). I absolutely loved FF 1.0. While I thought it had a couple weak spots, it really captured the TFC feel and felt like a great improvement overall. However the NEW changes that have occurred over the past 2 years (starting with 2.0) haven't given much thought to AvD and I/D gameplay (which is all I played TFC / FF for in the first place) and have imbalanced things so much that friends that used to play with me have quit, the game is less fun because the winning team is almost always the same, and I feel like I can't endorse the game anymore to new players.

On the surface, FF looks great, but as a longtime player of it and TFC from a non-CTF perspective I think the gameplay has gone to hell and STAYED there in order to accommodate experimental gimmicks.

Well, I just got the game after remembering reading news about it years ago and now finally having the source engine. I am also getting my friends to play it.

that's a very good idea. I don't know how many peeps actually read this forum, is there a way to spread this idea globally, so we could reach a lot of FF players (even those, that don't know this website neither irc)?

got a few addons:

is there a big FF community site out there which provides its readers with info about upcoming ff community events, leagues, patch info etc? something like a blog. a site that gathers all FF news.

speaking from personal experience a lot of people don't know or don't check out this site and, no offence, the main page ain't really up to date resp. updated frequently.

whenever we want to reach a lot of people, we miss a bunch, although the community ain't that big at all.

a ff blog or site, with news every other day could be very attractive and easily made by volunteers. if server owners (of the main 3 popular servers) were willing to spread some propaganda and put the websites url in it's name or just a reminder from time to time, we could reach more people imo.

just a thought...
