I've gotten straight A's all year, so I think that may have had something to do with it, but I don't know...

That said, anyone here own one and have some good game recommendations? I plan to get MGS 4 this month with my own saved up money, and my dad said he'll get me one game. I'm thinking Warhawk or Assassin's creed...

Call of Duty 4, Unreal Tournament 3... havn't tried Assassin's Creed or Warhawk.

What kind of games do you want? There's a broad spectrum, but I'm assuming you want stuff with lots of action and good replayability?

1. you are a lucky bastard and i wish my family would buy me a ps3 for good grades (ive got a 3.9 in fucking college). but nooooo i had to pay for mine!

2. GTA4 is badass (but you might be too young for it, depends on if your parents are strict about that sort of thing or not). Assassins creed is fun but from what i hear it gets old and a bit monotonous after a while. cant comment on that yet since i only played it for a little bit and thought it was a lot of fun. i played the demo for Dark Sector, and that was pretty fun, but again cant comment on the whole game as ive only played the demo (i just got my ps3 last week and only have GTA4).

I'd suggest not buying Assassin's Creed. If anything, rent it for like a week. Chances are you'll be done playing it by then.

You can make mods with UT3 on the PS3 - burn a DVD and it will work.

I don't know about multiplayer though.

I love the PS3. I know it's still god damn expensive, but bluray = win. try Resistance: Fall of Man. Great game, loads of fun, and Resistance 2 is coming out this year methinks.

I just picked up Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction, and I've gotta say it's a blast. I put down my preorder of MGS4 too, which my Dad's getting for me.
