I believe they were building dig-in artillery positions. Stationary mortars.

I never really liked John Stewart before he got the Daily Show...but he has really grown into it, and he does a great job. I don't know how much of it he writes himself, but his delivery is spot on.

I like Colbert better than John Stewart, but I think John Stewart's jokes are smarter. Colbert appeals to dumb people, like me.

This shiat was ace. Sometimes i think their stuff is funny, usually a smirk is the best they get out of me. But this really gives the public some excellent, important information in a hilarious and interesting manner. Too bad more history teachers can't roll like this
