What are some other spin offs of TF FF?
Are there other mods out there than were like TF?

TF
QWTF MegaTF TFC Q3F ETF FF Q4F? There was a TF for StarCraft but I won't count that. Then you've got the various Weapons Factory games, which are vaguely-TF. Edit: Also add Unreal Fortress (UnF), and Unreal Fortress Evolution (UnFE)

The (more or less) active ones are QWTF, TFC and ETF (in order of first release).

Don't forget Wolf Tactics, the TF inspired mod for RTCW.

TF and QWTF are both the standard Team Fortress for Quake. QuakeWorld was just an updated Quake Client for internet play.

Redundancy has its uses.

There's also a competing TF mod for source. It has several beta testers, but only 1 dev. On the up side, they've updated more recently than FF. Look it up on moddb, it's kinda lol.

There was a failed q2 TF mod early on, after which came Weapons Factory for quake2, one of the first (and still only) mods to break the mold; after that came Weapons Factory Arena... there's now a SECOND "Fortress Evolution" for the now-open-source quake3 engine, there was one a while back that failed, as well as prior to that very early in q3's life there was a mod whose name I forget, was like Arsenal something but looked very rad (this was before q3f even had a release, iirc). I really wish I could remember the name. :/
There was a Soldier of Fortune Fortress also but I don't know what became of it. Doom 3 Fortress came before Q4F which it eventually turned into, and was competing with Doom 3 Stronghold which died out before anything major became of it. That's all I can think of atm. edit: woops, someone already mentioned WF. Ah well, bears repeating, was a great mod. |

WF2 hasn't updated in quite a while, unless you count the alpha release published on the forums only.
So maybe what df` meant was one of these: http://mods.moddb.com/4621/team-fortress-revolution/ http://mods.moddb.com/8148/team-fortress-source/ And here's Fortress Evolution for (the open source version of) Quake 3 which TwiNCannoN mentioned: http://mods.moddb.com/8069/fortress-evolution/ There's a v0.6 available for download at FileFront via ModDB.
