Transparent Default FF Weapons

http://www.ozfortress.com/media/customs/1728/

Due to the usual demand for transparent weapons, I thought I might as well get these out there. Full Weapons Pack found here.

Yep, I definitely think this falls under the "cheats" category.

Crying out loud. Not this shit debate again. Incase you didnt know, you could just use the console command r_drawviewmodel 0 to get rid of the weapon models OR you can use the models posted above.

Good work mr. onion

I've never understood the debate behind it. You can argue that a player can see "more" than a player without them but I can't think of a single time I would have been able to kill someone who killed me if my weapon wasn't solid. I'd much rather see my weapons but to each his own. The only thing I was against in TFC was making the fire invisible which I think is impossible on Source but I could be wrong.

Not much of a difference between no weapon models, these models and default models if at all. My PC is poor on performance, but still plays just as good with these models.

Right, in TFC a "popular" cheat was to change the explosions' textures to clear thus making them invisible and give the player an unfair advantage.

well i was bout to say the same thing, but then i rememberd back when i had a real small small monitor, at that point every inch made a difference, even though that part of the screen is 90% of the time where you were 1 second ago.. say for underwater maps (rock2 ...*cry i miss you*) when your swiming down a lot its hard to see somebody, not to say i ever used that though

There is no debate. With the console command you also don't visually see your weapon reloading, nor do you hear the sounds associated with said action.

These skins are a plain cheat.

So says fidy, so it isn't

Anyway nice job on the skins, I tried them out in TFC for a while but I prefer the solid ones myself.

It most certainly IS a cheat since it exposes screen area that would otherwise be blocked for no penalty.

To think that people think this is a cheat, you're all insane.

The picture was taken in 1280x720, which is wide-screen. In TFC days, the resolutions were much smaller, so the weapon took up much more space.

Say that this is cheating is essentially saying that playing is widescreen is cheating because of a wider field of view.

Also if the field of view is the big problem here, why do you reckon there is a command to change the fov, deliberately placed in the game by the devs themselves?
