Damn what material is that? I'm guessing the longer it spans out, the less structurally secure it gets.

Well the only way I see it, it's got to be constructed like an accordian, only instead of being hollow like an accordian it's got lots of thin walls of a solid hard material same as the chair shaped side of it, each wall connected to the next by a membrane. So I'd guess you are right by saying it'd be more unstable the longer it stretches.

But if it is constructed like an accordian it would allways need to have a slight curve, else it'd be very unstable and simply fall over on it's side. And the way the guy demonstrates it seems to validate this.
