So, I'm probably going to be getting a Gibson SG Standard for $150 next weekend. Some guy in my dad's boat club has a son in university who told him to sell his guitars, and he has an SG standard that he doesn't really care about, so I'm probably going to get it. Although I don't need another guitar, I can't pass up such a good deal. He also has an original '63 Gibson acoustic 12-string, but he wants a lot more for that.

I'd grab that SG in a heartbeat.

In the mean time, seen the new Fender VG?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ueXIsgGgMYw&NR=1 Total sucknage... Its not good anywhere... Yngwie has lost weight, and his awesome solos.

And also the VG guitar seems really cool but still nothing more than a toy. I mean to get the real Telecaster sound you need a telecaster :P

Well Mervaka, i've been wondering about guitar synthesizers. I want a synthesizer where i can put "my own sounds" into it. IE download from the net and send it over and make my guitar sound like some clavinet or whatever i want it to sound like. Is there anything like that?

I love the dial it has for tuning, that's a great idea. I'm not so bothered about the way it copies the sound of other guitars (it doesn't do it very well.)

Nice, but I'd rather have a CS336.

All I got from it is that you can record each string to a separate track.

well the big point i was making was that it has an A/D converter inside the guitar. think what noise is eliminated from that? it also allows a mic channel and a monitor return. great if you use earpieces for monitoring.. i take it you guys dont play guitar outside the bedroom?

This one time, I played guitar at a friend's house.

Seriously though, very rarely do I play somewhere other than my room, still getting my chops together before I reveal my amazing skills to the world. I've played one show, with a band that didn't know what I meant when I told them what key a song was in. It wasn't very good.
