just got this game for PS3 today, and i have to say, it is excellent. it has a really creepy atmosphere and the best sound design of any game i have ever played (good sounding games give me big hard-ons).

i would highly recommend it to anyone who likes horror games or gore in general

anyone else have it? thoughts?

well its a survival horror game, so expect some fake scares, but nowere near doom3s crap. ive been playing in the dark and its has made me jump more than a few times, and i have gotten pretty anxious at some parts (to the point where im yelling "OH GOD SHOOT IT!")

it doesnt just rely on shock scares, it has a creepy ambience to it that really puts you on edge. i wish i had a surround setup so i could do this thing justice. as i said, by far the best sound design of any game ive ever played.

From what I'm seeing/reading it's focusing more on atmosphere than pop-up spooks. Silent Hill-esque.

The HUD being built into the dude's suit is an awesome idea. So far it sounds really awesome, and I kinda wanna pick it up. Wish I had the cash.

I heard that it's got parts where you have to walk on the outside of the ship, with your breath meter dwindling down slowly...

That sounds scary enough as it is.
