TFC maps ported into FF.

Is there a way to port TFC maps into FF? Same look and feel of the map environment. Less intense graphics.

Good ol TFC 2fort in FF might bring some peeps to FF along with other TFC maps. Less LAG perhaps?

Maybe it's possible that these ported TFC maps may have WAAAAYYYY less lag
for peeps on the client. I fear that's a bit of the problem with FF at the moment.
People with half cheesy computers that can run HL2 above par may not beable
to have a good gaming experience with FF becuz of the intense graphics of the
FF maps which results in frustration to the user and therefore turns them off
to the game. Many times I go into the servers and people bitch and moan about
lag. Lag is the most bitched about subject overall in FF.

I like the new maps and new look as much as anybody here. It's a direction
that should be chosen. Though many peeps are behind the times and probably
can't afford a new system with a 7 or 8 series Nvidia card and just a single CPU.

I don't know if TFC style maps would decrease lag....just a thought.

Just my opinion, but I think that that would be regressing the game. I think if they turn their settings down, and run at 800x600 they shouldn't have a problem. If they do, then it's definately time to upgrade anyways. I don't like dev_2fort... it looks blahhh...

it was called ff_dev_2fort because it was a dev map for testing and not meant for actually play. It's crappy BECAUSE it's nothing more then a map port :-\

I think this is a bad idea, at least for the Fortress Forever team.

It's a good idea for nostalgia at least, maybe a job for custom mappers? add "_classic" to the end of the map name "ie. ff_well_classic" would be pretty cool and I'd love that. Especially if there was "classic" only map servers.

But for the Fortress Forever team it should be a goal to make everything look as polished as possible. Otherwise we might as well be playing TFC.
