rock2 stopped being played due to it actually being similiar to "the rock" and thus impossible to cap on.

there was a map rock2_rc or something which changed this problem a little by making a few minor map changes but, more importantly, adding points bonuses for the movement of the key (2 points for any sort of touch, 2 more points for reachin yard.... etc).

badlands was a little rubbish from my memory. Next thing u will be doing is asking for the recall of bam :S

I'mglad someone sharesthis opinion. I always thought that with a few SGs and a good HW, that map was not fun at all for offense.

Someone mentioned in another thread that the crossover2 bridge is too short, so offence players tend to DM each other on the way across. Perhaps the bridge could be elongated to remove this tactic, and bring the map back to match play? I would like to see crossover return, it being my favourite map.

During my first game on rock2 one of my team fell down the pit in the mine shaft with the key, carrying it back to our base. He was subsequently heavily flamed, which was lucky for me as I surely would have done the same thing on my first go

I would prefer to see 2 bridges in the center of the map in a X shape, like the map name suggest crossover. The bridges would both be on seperate heights but that would mean having to make a 'top' entrance into the yard area and no idea if it would work.

rock2 on ETF which is called Rock, is a very well balanced map, if a map maker takes ideas off of that map, it could very well become suitable for league play.

I don't like that at all. Crossover is fine the way it is. Except if they take out teleports. Then it won't be as fun without having sg parties on the roof. (Snipers can come too).

Flagrun is probaly my favourite map. But i fail to see how it'll be as much fun without teleports! They were a vital part of team movement!

Why was he taking the key back to your base?

I certainly do....scraping round each corner with yet more damage...then ya get to the last...heart racing like the clappers...blindly ignoring comms due to wild panic!

Finally into the gc and hit the lever...then look out the window and watch the rest of your teams offy arrive

I really miss that rush you got running with the key on rock2. I don't think i'll ever have that again..

Rock2 used to be played a massive amount before as well.

Aarg memory spurt. The old scramble for a suit only to have someone waltz in from the side to nick it just before you and then turn to laugh at you as you choke on the evil green stuff.

My gosh I had forgotten what an excellent map it really was.

I think if Rock2 had at least 2 entrances to the Warden's Office, it would be playable. I remember using the "thin door" trick on pubs more than once to "cap" the key.

Maybe instead of the tunnel coming up into the yard, it would come directly into the office...

Or, make an entrance to the Office from the battlements...
