But in the original TFC They were the same, and, imo, looked much better.

No, I'm saying the TFC medkit looks better than the HL2 one they have lying around in Hunted.

Yea, I think with all the extra details and stuff they put on the FF medkit it wouldn't make as much sense to be the pickup item.
Although at this point it'd also be wierd if they used the HL2 medpack. |

ARG! Nobody's understanding me.
I mean make it look like that one. In HL1 they don't use the same model for the pickup one and the one you use, but they're meant to be the same thing. So why not do that now? |

Because the medkit they modeled would look wierd as a medkit you pick up, like I just said. (It might be both, actually. I'm just giving opinions on a totally unverified issue )
If you're asking 'why didn't they make a model that looks suitable for both' then I say: well, they didn't want them to looke the same this time around. Although they may be. Wouldn't really surprise me anyway if they did it the TFC way. And the hunted screenshots might be older than the medkit model. |

There are certain things that are marked "change it if we have time". The HL2 world model medkit is one of those.
TFC used HL's default medkit and (I think) the w_ and v_ models were actually the same. The HL2 one isn't really suitable for the v_ model, so we designed our own one for that. However, our v_ medkit is a bit too elaborate to work as a w_ model, so for now we're just using the HL2 model for w_ purposes. v_ model = First-person viewport model. w_ model = Third-person world model. Just for those that didn't get what I was waffling on about. |

It looks good up close in your view, but at a distance it's a bunch of lost detail.

The w_ and v_ medkits were a little bit different in TFC. The v_ one was slightly more detailed.
