Removal of HUD elements (part2)

With regards to this post: http://www.fortress-forever.com/foru...ad.php?t=14416

I've whacked something together, that was supposed to toggle the HUD settings - those that are found in HudLayout.res

The application makes a copy of HudLayout.res (calling it HudLayout.orig) when first run.
Then simply allows you to tick/untick elements you desire.

Unzip and copy the .exe file into your FortressForever folder. Run (and Save) before you start FF.

The issue at hand is that while the .res settings are changed: "visible" to either "1" or "0", it makes no difference to the HUD in-game. Pretty stumped actually, and so am wondering if they're able to be toggled at all.
If nothing else, it would be nice for it to be tested for any runtime errors.

No errors when i tested it - but yeah, no changes in the HUD. How does it work with the speedometer.. is it enabled/disabled the same way other options would be, ie can you pick up some pointers from how that's done?

Then again, i have no idea what i'm talking about.
