Your map differs from the servers

I know this has been posted before and I tried the suggestions I could find on this but they don't seem to help.

Just wondering if anyone has any new insight into this issue.

It only happens to me on Dropdown. All other maps load fine but as soon as i try to join a server playing dropdown or if i'm already ingame and the map changes to dropdown, I get the message "your map differs from the servers" and am unable to play.

Here's what i've tried so far.

Deleted all system temp files

went into C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\SourceMods\FortressForever\m aps and deleted dropdown.bsp then tried to join the server again. It does re-download the map but as soon as it's done, I get the error again.

Searched the steam directory for *dropdown* and deleted everything related to the map then tried to join again.. same issue

Downloaded the map manually and re-installed it myself.. same issue

Am I missing something here? this issue only started recently when I got a system upgrade (new motherboard, CPU, RAM, HDD, Video, powersupply). Before that I was able to play it successfully.


Thanks for any suggestions anyone has. See you ingame! well.. unless it's Dropdown.

What server are you trying to join?

Also where are you downloading it from (when it's not from a server)?

Last night it was on eO's server I believe but for a test I tried to join another server playing dropdown (can't remember the name) and received the same error.

I tried downloading it from Yannricher.com but couldn't find a download link anymore (just a bunch of screenshots) so i ended up getting it from fileFront

Ok...dropdown is now included in the 2.0 as an official map, so I think your .bsp does differ b/c your getting it from somewhere else. I know this doesn't explain why it's not working when dl'ing from the server, but lemme get you a link to some material from my clean 2.0 installer.

EDIT: Ok try downloading this...it should be everything that is in the 2.0 installer. I know there was an update to the .bsp so this might fix your problem.

Here is the thing Dropdown became an official map with the last patch. Before that it was a comunity map made by shax.

In the official map there was some slight changes to the map bsp. So if you DL the latest patch you should be able to get the correct files there.

So if a server is running the old version and you the Official or vis versa you will get that error.

Fucking doc types a lot faster than me.

It should have a bunch of textures in there?
