Because when i go back and pimp the first areas it will look better than the last, then I'll have to redo that to keep up!
:'( Well, STA_SirTiger and I will just have to hope you reconsider. I'm not trying to harp or be an ass, but I honestly think it will make the difference between the map being popular or unpopular.

As for the name..
ff_advance? ff_march? ff_unfoldingway? ff_charge? ff_force? ff_impact? ff_exertion? ff_go? ff_gumption? ff_vigor? ff_crush?

Personally, I really like ff_go. Very concise, very trendy, very clear

ff_colossus!

The name doesn't mean anything anyway so you might as well stick with what you and everyone else are used to! (and 'cause it's a cool name anyway)

How about ff_lineage or ff_ancestry?

And btw i'm looking forward to playing this and dustbowl the most. Looks AMAZING and i hope the gameplay will match it.

FF_Revolution

FF_Frenzy

FF_Fury

You can name a map whatever you want. But generally you would want to follow naming conventions. Pretty much any mod you play for any game, you will 99% of the time see its initials before the map.

Examples:

css_town
q3f_mach
ff_2fort
tfc_well
etf_bases

It's easier to find and identify maps if they have the ff_ prefix.

I understand that. I just didn't know there was a tfc_well. I only saw a handfull of maps that had a tfc prefix at all.

me too, but most mods now seem to be doing the (mod)_ prefix for the maps, suppose it helps when searching for a specific map maybe? *shrug*

TBH I was always hoping that FF would take a CS type direction IE naming the map prefix in conjunction with the type of map (de = bomb map, cs = hostage map, etc.)

Something like ctf_ = capture the flag, avd_ = attack vs defend, es_ = escape

hehe, I don't even know if there was a "css_town", let alone a "tfc_well". I was just guessing!

It also helps when you write your own filters for server browsers. Of course you could use the mod name in the filter, but you could also use the map prefix to search for servers too. I have done both. (a tfc sever would never ever run etf_mach...)
