A great author dies.
The author, Robert Jordan has died from his rare blood disease. He was well known for writing the epic fantasy series, "The Wheel of Time" which is considered to be superior to the writings of Tolkien, who wrote the Lord of the Rings series.
He was working on his 12th and final book in the series, he loved his creation and its sad to see he couldn't complete it. Here's the Link http://www.cnn.com/2007/SHOWBIZ/TV/0...ef=mpstoryview The most famous quote from his series, "The Wheel of Time turns, and Ages come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth comes again. In one Age, called the Third Age by some, an Age yet to come, an Age long past, a wind rose.... The wind was not the beginning. There are neither beginnings nor endings to the turning of the Wheel of time. But it was a beginning." |

Oh man! I have not even read The Wheel of Time and I know that it was a good book!
Truly, we have lost a great writer. ):

It's sad that you find humor in that. You have obviously never been exposed to death. You may watch it depicted on TV, play it in games, but you have no idea what the real experience of a death is.

Don't turn this thread into a flame war due to some bullshit argument from a past thread. I respect good authors who die, and this one was indeed good.
May you not go to library hell and receive 1000 paper cuts, but instead go to the great fantasy library in our minds, as we continue to read your words through the passing of ages. |

Library hell is being forced to read Eragon and the rest of the Inheritance trilogy while watching brilliant books such as Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Fin be burned in the name of political correctness .

How is it that Robert Jordan get's a thread yet Kurt Vonnegut didn't. Jordan didn't even deserve to hold Vonnegut's jock strap. The asteroid 25399 Vonnegut is named in his honor. so it goes........ Last edited by Deadly Furby; 09-20-2007 at 12:23 AM. |
