Aside from the bug fixes, the best thing is "SDK now includes cs_militia.vmf so that users can study it more closely". I think many people will be surprised at how simple the brushwork is.

You're brushwork would be simple too if you had custom textures and models out the ass.

brushwork might be simple but it's still the map that lags the most in cs:s.

No obvious mention of HDR, unless they include it under Ep1 content.

If they fixed the model dancing and vertex jumping problems, I'm going to be so happy I'll pee.
EDIT: Uh, well... verticies still jump and my 3d view window doesn't work at all, so I can't tell if they fixed the models dancing. So uh, what bugs did you fix, Valve? Last edited by o_imbrifer; 08-05-2006 at 12:45 AM. |

My Viewport window was down too, what I did to fix it was change the 3d view type, first I changed it to Lighting preview (which doesn't seem to work yet, although It would be a pretty cool feature) and then I switched back to my normal 3d shaded textured polygons. Got my view back. This version fixed a few graphical issues I was having, nothing serious. The model viewer is a lot faster when searching as well. Pretty nifty stuff. All in all it wasn't a very big update.

My 3d window was messed up too, I just use the camera tool to view a part of the level and it was fine again.

it's fixed the slight movement of models in the 3d window that i was getting depending on the angle they were viewed from. it's also stopped some textures from sliding around, but the red mask on selected brushes is still patchy.
i've also read reports of greatly reduced bsp sizes, which should be good if it's true. |

Ooh, I just realized that when you open a map, the 3d view resets to the place it was when you closed hammer the previous time. Interesting...
And props and selection of brushes don't dance around anymore! Whee! I can really get back to mapping |

Crashes when I load militia too commander.
I wanted to take a look at some of the brush work.. granted I remember seeing most of the models/textures associated with militia from before, but it would've been nice to see some of the other stuff. |

I don't know if it was the new SDK update that screwed it up, but I doubt it since I used it for a while without fail and then I clicked on View>3D Filled Polygons and everything turned to black.
No grid or anything(in that picture that's a blank map. Just now I opened a map that I know has stuff in it and I got this: Nothing I've tried has fixed it. Does anyone know what's happening? |
