LG W2261VP-PF - Windows Move After Power Mode

I might as well ask here since I got a noob response from LG...

Hello

Thank you for contacting LG Customer service. We are here to help provide you with the answers or guidance you need. If you require further assistance please submit a new request or contact customer service at 1-888-542-2623.

Looking at the images there is no indication of the resolution being changed on the display. This looks like a function of Windows itself or an addon.

Regards
LG Canada

Minor "issue". When the monitor is turned off/on or it comes back from Power Saver the open windows on my desktop move. Any cure for this? You can see it in the gif I attached. Not a big deal but still a nuance.

Thanks.

-Win 7 x86
-Got the driver installed and just installed Forte Manager.
-Windows makes the Device Connect/Disconnect sound.
-Latest Nvidia drivers

Just tested an old Dell in both digital and analogue and it doesn't happen

its a function of windows not saving the positioning or dimensions of open "windows". depending on your power saving options, certain aspects of the computer computer go into a standby mode. before doing so, windows backs up information stored in RAM. ram is where the "window" information sits. when it comes out of standby mode it is not being recovered. im not aware of the specific parameters in order to fix this, but it does have to do with the way in which windows handles standby mode. it might be the case that you are going into a deep standby, where its not only the monitor that turns off, but other components such as the hard drive, etc.

short answer: its not your monitor.

@unknownvector
Thanks for the response but...

I mean when the monitor goes off after 10 mins. Not when the system goes to sleep. Bad wording. Sorry.

That animation is when the monitor gets turned off.

@Mooga
So this is happening when the Monitor is turned off via your power settings?

I wonder if shift-close might help. Setting a memory position for the Window. Take a program for which you want it to start up with a particular mode and position. Once it's in place press and hold shift and click the close button. When it relaunches it should return to that point. I wonder if returning from sleep might benefit from the same?

Frankly, Windows 7 has broken alot of things that we've taken for granted for a long time. I have a prototype project I'm working on at work where I'm having to find workarounds in the Windows 7 IIS, SQL 2008 and a few other things that have "just worked" in prior Windows Versions.

I'll be curious to see if your window restore behavior changes if you try this.

Thanks for the input...

Shift-close doesn't work.

I can't remember if I had this problem in XP, as I have been on 7 for a while now. I may have to install it or run a live CD and check.

I have to keep clicking a Java script bookmark in FF, because I lose some hight...
Code:
javascript:resizeTo(1024,1020);
It happens even when they're minimized. Most things seems to move to the top right. I noticed Winamp and Steam don't move.

I emailed LG again, they said to call. I may next week.
