Newbie mapper need help!

When i say newbie, its like, i am learning our to make a brush. But my prob is that on every tutorial i see, there is some textures on the brush. But when i do as they say, i only get my black brush with no texture in it.



I need to know how to have texture on my brush!!!
(Even though i click "apply texture" it dont work)
I have a brick texture set
i ve searched many tutorial for my prob but never found one!
So please help me, because i think the map i have in my head could be a good map, but i cant even start

Try hitting the enter key once you have that screen. It should create the object.

In the upper-left corner of the upper-left window, you'll see the word "Camera."

Left-click on this, and you'll see a list of options. Each one of those options will change what that upper-left window is showing you. Since you want to see the textures, I believe the option is "3D Textured," or something to that extent.

The reason you only see black in that picture is because you're looking at the wireframe representation in the 3D view.
