Eh... on TFC I was a HOME, DELETE, END, PAGE DOWN person.
Most keyboards don't deal well with multiple presses on those keys but mine does so I kept it that way. It gave me good access to loads of binds, but I'll try to be a WASD person in FF. So I'm sure I won't have too much trouble if I must change keyboard |

i would use TFGH, but WASD is so common as the default layout nowadays, its so much less to reassign. perhaps if i needed lots of keys for a particular game i might try and convert.

Before Steam I used the arrow keys, then, when Steam was released, I ran away from TFC for a year or so and then came back and decided to use WASD.
Go on people, use WASD if you want to play good |

It looks like he uses his pinky to strafe left or right and his index finger to move forward or back.

Wow i only just let on to that. Thats ridiculous I bet he has to do some stretch exercises before he plays.
Is it just me, or are forums really sad ? We are talking about what keys people use to play TFC..... I think we are very sad. |

a/s = Left/Right
e/d = Forward/Back (yey, only 2 fingers wasted for walking ^_^) space = jump r/f = Gren1/Gren2 z = showscores ^_^ This way I can reach 6 keys easily with my index finger where I can put ultimately useless stuff (please don't have me reload manually...) The mouse (as medic) Mouse1 = Supernailgun + Attack Mouse2 = Supershotgun + Attack Mouse3 = Shotgun + Attack Mouse4 = Medikit + Attack Mwheeldown = Flaginfo + Dropitems Mwheelup = jump (I even use this in Quake because it's nice to jump _very_ often when the ceiling is low or something...) Mouse5 = another free key for useless stuff... |

I guess my setup doesn't make much sense, but I learned playing like this on my brothers PC and never bothered to change it since.
My left and right arrow keys are actually turn left and right, not strafe. I guess I'm the only person that uses those (but they are very handy for initial bunnyhop, concing, and when I'm extremely lazy and cba to move the mouse to turn around corners!) |

You are very odd. :]
Even though you still have to aim with the mouse, yet you turn with keys, "Very odd" But who cares, as long as you like then and can play. if anyone cares: (i keep mine simple, not like you bizarre bunch) Arrows: froward , back , strafe left and right Ctrl: Crouch Left Shift: Jump Keys next to enter ,above shift: Gren1 and Gren2 Last edited by o_paft; 03-28-2006 at 03:43 PM. |

I used to play with numpad & a logitech trackball.
Never liked the way the W-key was not inline with the S-key. The arrows had to few buttons around it, so started using numpad. |

This always freaks people out, but I use mouse 1 and 2 for forward and back.
Shift and Z for strafe left and right. Ctrl and Alt for fire and alt fire. |

Currently what im using but trying to either rebind it all on different keys or find a keyboard where the arrow keys and the keypad are about 5mm closer. Injured my hand a while ago and TFC seems to give me pain twinges after playing a few hours now.
Forward/Back - Up / Down Direction Key Strafe Left/Right - Numberpad 4 / 6 Jump - Right CTRL Duck - Numberpad Enter Grens - Numberpad 1 & 2 |
