so if you think about it, its trimping in the video.

and now mervaka hints eyh.. will there be _real_ dubble jumping?

And no one answered the question about the AC bar under the ammo counter, it does seem to rise when he shoots. both in speed and maby heat.

So what does that AC Bar do?

i think its a heat gauge, see how the barrels of the AC turn red as he fires more, i guess this is an unexplained feature in ff

That is essentially trimping, meaning you don't hit jump twice to jump higher like in many sidescrollers or fighting games. If you're bhopping out around push and hit that ramp, you can bonk your noggin on the ceiling, completely missing the ball and crashing down on the other side of the barn. I really like the feature myself, so hopefully you guys will too. It adds another learnable skill to the game but will not ever replace concing or rjumping.

But what Merv was hinting to is what pops up when you pull our your knife. Thats what it says, lol. I still get a good laugh when I see it.

afaik, thats just the ported version for testing shit out on. the real 2fort is yet to hit the beta svn/servers.

Great update. While the Dustbowl video was nice the video that was posted in this update was what I really wanted to see.

yeah, you're right.

the AC has a heat bar. when you press and hold fire, it starts firing slowly, and quite quickly gets up to speed (and therefore also gets hotter). upon releasing the button, the AC will fire a few shots, then stop firing and begin to slow/cool. the goal is to ride the top end of the heat bar without going over, which would cause the gun to overheat, and you have to wait for it to cool before firing again (gun cools at the normal rate still)

in short, you cant just hold fire anymore. ammo stocks dont last as long either,you get 200 shots, and that doesnt last long while firing at full speed!

BritishTang said yesterday that he's redoing the AC fire sound i think.. i personally think it's pretty meaty myself! just needs something a bit more tinny mixed in with it slightly. Then again, dont take my word for it, ask the man himself when he arrives!

remember that the TFC asscan was a right old pickle. it was basically a gatling shotgun with a sound loop instead of individual shots. by today's standards, its wank. it was just made easier for the modem limited netcode.
