For anyone who hasnt been before and is thinking of going, you can usually find a ride with some other people headed your way via the quakecon forums, and just sleep under your computer. Total cost that way is like under $150.

Plus you get so many free tshirts.

QuakeCon and DefCon are two goals in life I wish to achieve one day. Unfortunately getting the summer off at my job is near impossible unless you've been there for at least 10 years and have some seniority or just get damn lucky that no one reserved those weeks off (which is like a 99% chance of that happening.) Ah but good times. I usually watch video feed from those events as they are just pure fun to watch (so are MtG events but I guess that's more for the geeks

)
