Seems so, dude. Pretty depressing. I bet U2 is involved somehow.

Politicians are usually voted in based on social and monetary policies, rather than defense or military politics (unless you are under seige). Most Americans voted (obviously poorly) and polls show that they regret their choices. There was no Bush campaign promise that they would stomp the middle east into dust.

Basically, it's fairly inane to assume that the whole country is retarded or uncaring about the world when only ~400 people dictate how it's run and where it's resources are spent
what are you talking about ppl not having any power? voting?

i don't follow NA politics but didn't they re-elect the same dipshit into power twice?

There are just some things that should never have escaped the Somethingawful forums...

o rly is just one of many

^Well if you did pay attention, the first time there was a big bruhaha and he basically won by about 400 votes, and the second time won by about a single percentage point^

As well, his competition both times was fairly negligible, and the choice was essentially (as South Park so deftly put it) between a Giant Douche or a Turd Sandwich. It's not like they have more than 2 choices (who are both essentially the same, though they pretend to be different)

The result of the 'terrorist' attack with the planes was the invasion in Afghanistan, not Iraq. The publicly announced reason for invading Iraq was that supposedly Saddam had WMDs. Nobody labeled the Iraqi population as terrorists to go after.

Not at the time. The more ignorant among us assume Iraqis are either terrorists, or grateful sods with nothing to their names.

Now that I actually watched the video, that was pretty bad.

But since everyone else has already said what I was going to most likely say, I won't repeat.

An appropriate title would be "Why are a lot of the American soldiers so fucked up?". I know, you can give me the bad apple reasoning, but I've not seen a lot of positive footage coming from there from "your boys". Most of it was running someone's taxi over with a tank for stealing a bit of wood, using phosphorous gas on fallujah and this sick shit.

Internationally you will get judged for what your goverment does and decides, since you chose your goverment.

Deal with it.

Not all of us do. The ones that do label all muslims as terrorists just see about all of the bad ones from the media. People watch TV and form opinions from half truths all of the time, it's sad and true at the same time.

You call all americans hypocrites by forming an opinion from one video. You are placing yourself into the butt of your own fucking arguement.

I agree that this video is horrible and by no means right at all, but name calling and jumping the gun and labelling people because you saw some heartless act from a video shows that you are no better than what you're spitting about americans.

There are uneducated low life people in every country and in every city. You shouldn't harass and call them names. You should pity them for being raised by their uncaring, oblivious, flat-out cock eyed parents.

American soldiers should be forced to attend inquests on British service personnel killed in so-called "friendly- fire" attacks, a senior government minister said yesterday.

Harriet Harman, the Constitutional Affairs minister, said US personnel could not "hide from the court" by declining to give evidence in person to inquests. She called in the deputy US ambassador David Johnson yesterday and called for a change.

Ms Harman intervened after the Oxfordshire coroner, Andrew Walker, complained that US personnel had not attended inquests.

Mr Walker contacted officials at the Department for Constitutional Affairs in the summer after the Pentagon refused requests for US personnel to attend inquests. Instead, they sent written statements, some of which are understood to include censored passages.

Ministers are concerned that the failure of US forces to attend means their evidence cannot be subject to normal questioning, hindering the ability of the coroner to investigate the deaths.

As many as 10 forthcoming inquests are thought to involve "friendly fire" or were witnessed by US troops, but the figure could be higher. After yesterday's meeting, Mr Johnson agreed to report British concerns back to Washington and said that he would meet Ms Harman again in two months for a progress report.

Ms Harman said: "It was a positive, constructive meeting. Our concern is to ensure US personnel come to answer the questions of bereaved relatives. The families want to know how their loved ones were killed. They deserve that right."

Tu I wouldnt exactly say you are pointing out their hypocracy, you are mimicking it beyond the extent they go to. You watched this video and were upset so you suddenly became mad at Americans in general because you have a bone to pick. Dont talk in anger because you end up looking like and idiot, this thread being a perfect example.
