When you live in an elective oligarchy like most western countries, you really don't have much say in how the government is run. Politicians are usually voted in based on social and monetary policies, rather than defense or military politics (unless you are under seige). Most Americans voted (obviously poorly) and polls show that they regret their choices. There was no Bush campaign promise that they would stomp the middle east into dust.

As well, his competition both times was fairly negligible, and the choice was essentially (as South Park so deftly put it) between a Giant Douche or a Turd Sandwich. It's not like they have more than 2 choices (who are both essentially the same, though they pretend to be different)

I know, you can give me the bad apple reasoning, but I've not seen a lot of positive footage coming from there from "your boys". Most of it was running someone's taxi over with a tank for stealing a bit of wood, using phosphorous gas on fallujah and this sick shit.
