As some people mentioned in the comments:

*32-bit Vista is limited to 3GB of RAM (I'm assuming this is true?)

*You also need a "real" video card for good performance.

Windows SuperFetch sounds like the first thing I would disable when I got the OS. What a waste of resources just so you *might* be able to open a program faster. I'd kinda rather have the RAM free so that when the program is OPEN it will RUN faster

Same with the stupid fast-search service feature. If you're files are getting lost all the time, you need to get off your ass and organize them.

There are already some tweak guides for Vista out there- like XP, there are a lot of useless services running in the background that you can disable.

Yeah, Vista comes with a hell of a lot more useless stuff than XP, that's why the install is over 8gb. I don't see 7gb of extra functionality in Vista so one has to wonder what they're playing at. My new computer is going to have 2gb of ram and i'll only be using Vista for playing DX10 games, maybe they'll run worse than DX9 games on XP though because of the random precaches and stuff it does in the background while i'm playing.

I think you misinterpreted it because they were only demonstrating Vista on a 4G machine. If you were demonstrating a video game on a PC, would you do on a machine with 512mb? And nothing else had anything backing up their statements.
