No, he has a point. By saying "better" he doesn't mean funnier but more constructed and thought through. I prefer pubbing myself but you can say pretty objectively that clanplay is far more deep.

It's still not "better," unless what's being gauged are things like tactics, organization, etc.

You can't just say "It's better. End of discussion," because it's not. It's more structured, sure. It's probably even more watchable (although watching someone else play when I could just be playing myself is sort of baffling). But it's not just better.

Absolutely, I was implying saying "better" refers to organisation tactics etc.. that's what i think dospac was meaning to say.

it also means more skilled and more proficient in the game, which you can't deny. and if someone is better at the game, the game itself is better for them unless it's people just goofing around

League play is better. The play in leagues is better. How hard is this to understand? Like Dospac said in the first post, it's almost a truism. He even said in his post he wasn't referring to what's more fun. How does that relate to the value of pub play vs. league play? I don't know. Either one can be more fun to the same player at different times.

But the players in league play are, on average, better. Most of you should just accept it as true, and move on to your real argument, which I guess is what's more fun or what deserves to be the focus in development.

surely if the players are better quality, than the level at which they play at will be better, therefore the quality of play will be better. Not more fun, not more enjoyable. better ie. higher standard, more advanced manouvers, better aim, better skills.

I dunno.....compare "better" in a different term. Since its still summertime, lets use baseball. Personally, I still play mens softball and have coached every level of kids baseball. Sure, pro baseball is more experianced, and if I were at that level, Im sure Id enjoy the paychecks......but nothing beats going out one night a week to hang with the guys in the fun league playing softball. Ya goof around, dont care who makes an error, and at the end, everyone shakes hands. You dont see the elitest attitudes you see with the pro players. They show up, play for 3 hours, then piss on you on their way to their Mercedes. Kids baseball at certain levels is hella fun to be a part of as well.

As for TFC, Ive played in numerous leagues and personally, found the lower ranked teams more fun to play with and against.....never tried for the better teams as Ive seen many of their types on pubs and quite honestly, many are jackasses only interested in proving how leet they are....not to mention I never wanted to put in the time and dedication it would take to get to that higher level.

For me, league play surely is fun, and I look forward to the matches....but, thats 1 or 2 days a week......I play TFC all week long because its fun to hang with friends. And if you made me choose.....Id rather play with my friends, hands down.
