yaay @ new tv
I picked this bad boy up yesterday from Ultimate Electronics practically brand new for about $800:
SAMSUNG 37" 1080p LCD HDTV - LN37A550 No scratches, nothing. This is going in my room, along with my 2.16 Samsung monitor. I'm interested in getting a Bluray player in a couple months, anyone have any suggestions? I guess a PS3 would be a good buy. |

excellent choice kube. i got the 32a550 from my gf for xmas, and it is very fucking sweet. samsung makes the best hdtvs, you will not be disappointed.
http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showt...020612&page=34 post #995 is widely regarded as the best settings for that TV. i use these settings with a few variations (personal taste) and i have to say, it looks fucking amazing. so much better than the out of the box settings (which still arent bad) also, get a ps3. not having a bluray player for a tv that awesome is doing yourself a grave disservice. and if youre going to get a BD player, might as well get something that can play them vidyuh gams too! |

Right on. Thanks for the suggestions. I'll definitely take a look at those settings. Also, I've been hearing from reviews that the audio isn't that great so I'll likely need an audio receiver at some point, which is fine with me, but I don't want to shell out a crapton of money for it. Yamaha and Bose seem to be good systems. I've had problems with Harmon receivers in the past, does anyone have any suggestions as to audio?

http://www.firstadopter.com/fa/archi...1749.html#more ive heard good things about JBL and Marantz, but i cant really comment because my tv and ps3 stuff go through my computer audio interface and out of my blue sky studio monitors, so i dont have much experience with traditional home theater receivers aside from having to use my dads mid-scooped-with-shitty-sub bose system. |
