Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War

*whew*

That took a long-ass time...conquering 4 entire planets and 2 moons as the Sisters of Battle.

I just completed the Soulstorm campaign for the first time today. In game time, it would take me roughly 90 minutes per stronghold battle and 20-30 minutes for each normal battle. In game time, I'd say it amounted up to 10-15 hours.

I know you guys heard of these RTS series. Yet, what else could be a better game for this genre? With streamlined resources and different attributes to combat, this game really rocks!

My favorite race is the Imperial Guard. What's your favorite Warhammer 40K race?

Tyranid, although they aren't represented in the RTS . #2 was announced recently and they better be in.

I'm an Orc or Space Marines kinda guy. In real life I've got a bunch o' necrons but I stopped playing ages ago. I only have Dawn of War, so I haven't played Sisters of Battle or anything, but I have to get that game. DoW is one of the best RTS's out there right now.

Officially they are still not in YET, not even in the latest xpac.

However, there's some sort of a mod out there that puts the Nid race in there.

Good answers from everyone though about race preferences. Now it seems like for some reason, I like to handle all Imperium forces in this game now(Imperial Guard, Sisters, Space Marines).

But what really gets me is that in the game's campaigns, they're always fighting each other. It's just like Orks fight each other just for the helluvit but I don't see where the humans differ because of the radical ideals and unique agendas of each of the three races.

The Imperial Guard fight for humanity itself, the Sisters fight for the Imperial Church, and the Space Marines fight directly for the Emperor. Aren't ALL of those equally important???

That's DOW: Soulstorm, which was released very recently. It contains the Sisters as a new faction as well as, I think, some new campaign stuff. But the only DOW I've played is the first.

Yes, and it's a shame. The mod is ok but it's nothing I could play for long .

I am impressed that they dished out the SOB and Dark Eldar.

There's not much races left to bring into the game, notably the 'nids.

I played Company Of Heroes before playing that game, not much innovation imo.

YOU GATHER RESOURCES THE SAME, IT MUST BE THE SAME GAME!

And, actually, the resource gathering is different in both games.

Ah ok...I just don't seem to be a big fan of resource gathering now. If it is replenishable, you can still use it for tech upgrades and more unit training. (that's why I really hate Starcraft)!

WC2 and WC3 were somewhat ok, however, it was still the same that there was a limit you can get from a gold mine and only so many trees to cut down. It becomes "streamlined" as long as worker units are present.

What kind of resources do you gather in CoH? It is like Empire Earth?
