I think that model works well if you are just releasing over steam. However, with episode 2 they are also releasing all of HL2 to PS3 and Xbox360. I'd be willing to bet this extra delay is tied into that.

Anywho, there is already a thread on this. It's also been confirmed that they are shooting for Fall, not Winter.

i made a snide comment in response to your attempt at being witty. if you'll notice my original comment simply said that it's natural for them to be a little more lax in deadlines with the knowledge that tf2 is not breathing down their necks. they might say it has tf2 has no effect on this mod, but it surely does.

no shit. that home stretch is always the worst, when you know its close to done but you have to go over all the little shit to make sure its tip top. you just want to get it the fuck out of there, but refuse to sacrifice your integrity in order to do so.
