ET:QW
Discuss. I got the beta yesterday, Im enjoying it, wouldnt say its anything ground breaking though. Finding the whole "server is full" issue a pain in the arse though. Also, getting very annoyed at how I cant go up a rank, when someone who has half my XP has gone up 2 ranks already, lal

I tried it out. I probably won't be getting it. I'm not a huge fan of that style of gameplay. I'm sure it'll be more fun in organized games but for pubs I think it's too complicated.

I tried it, am NOT pleased with the 24 player limit. I don't really like the level from the beta either and the Strogg weapons seem a bit overpowered . I prefer BF2142 over it.

Take my account with a grain of salt. I've tried games like battlefield and enemy territory before and usually grow tired of them pretty fast. If you enjoy that style of play you'll probably like ET:QW as it's like that only with quake 4 style weapons.

I played some of the BF games something about them I cant place but I got bored of them pretty quick. Its probably just the fact I didn't really enjoy the combat is was quite one plain and sometimes awkward.

its like any game after a while you get used to the gameplay. bf games are totally different gameplay to steam games. It took me ages to get used to playing 2142 after playing so much tfc. Different objectives and shit....
all good fun once you get into it. I just hate using teamspeak when in little clan games. |

I've played about 20 hours of the beta so far (by my stats tracker ) and I'm really enjoying it, and in fact looking at clanning in it too. I must admit, I was relatively sceptical when I first started playing, but it's really grown on me over the last few days. I'd even go so far as to say I'm less concerned about FF's release date now that I've got something else to get my teeth into.
Once they've rolled out the planned netcode fixes and sorted out the animation issues, it will be even better. |

I couldn't stand the BF series because the damage on the weapons is retarded. When you hit three times with a sniper rifle prone, not moving, against a guy just standing there, thats just lame.

Well I can barely run it but when you get a firefight it plays pretty good. However you have to get to the firefight and hope you don't get killed by a vehicle, random death raining from the sky, or a sniper across the map you can't kill.

I really love playing bf2. It does have it's fair shair of problem (sniping was mentioned, among other things). The ET beta runs better than battlefield. Lag isn't bad, and you can actully snipe.
Though, I do think that when dm'ing with other players, some of your shots don't register? I don't know, something just doesn't feel right to me when dancing with some opponents and firing. Maybe I'll get used to it, or they'll fix whatever it is. Either way, I like how maps won't be just 'capture this point, move on and do it again'. I'll probably pick it up when it come out. |

The netcode and lag prediciton are still work in progress, so say the devs. Should feel a lot more solid once that stuff is sorted out.
