So I just got my hands on Mahou Sensei Negima and watched the first 6 episodes last night, fuckin awesome. Done by the same guy that did Love Hina, so it's kind've like that mixed with some Harry Potter. I've been trying to find it for the right price for awhile and finally did! Anybody else seen it?

Also, am I the only anime nerd here?

onemanga.com I browse that shit every friday. Recently read Mahou sensei negima, it's not bad a i guess, but that weird happy of putting 10 years old kids as bad ass characters is a meh factor for me.

I've merged this thread with the existing and longstanding anime thread. If you didn't know it exists before, you do now.

I am watching my way through Death Note right now.

TBH I am always prejudiced against an anime before I go and watch it. I saw all of the fandom and the girls squealing over Death Note, and I thought it would be crap.

Once again I was wrong and happily so. I can see how girls would be attracted to either of the main guys.

It's... man, just the logic used in this. It's written really well. It is sort of like a modern day Sherlock Holmes, except there's Sherlock Holmes and his evil bizarro world twin Sherlock Holmes going against each other.

You never really get to see very intelligent investigative minds go against one another in a story. Either the criminal's a nutter or the detective/P.I./whatever is incompetent. It's a rarely used technique and I find it very refreshing.

I'm just waitin' for the blonde chick with pigtails to be introduced, whoever the Hell she is.

I watched a couple episodes and hated it. This group of people have the following attitude: It's kind've badass, but it's SO emo.

My roommate loves the show. That group of people have the following attitude: It's emo, but it's SO badass.

Kira and L are, if anything, not very emotional at all, so I don't see how "emo" fits.

It's the whole debate on the value of life. The characters may not be emo, but it's a very emo themed show.

So I finished Death Note... I think it would have been better if it ended at a certain point, right around when a certain person dies. I guess I'm the kind of person who likes it when the bad guy gets away.

I started watching One Piece, and by started I mean I charged my way through damn near the entire series. I'm up to episode 340 now, and it's great. I shudder at the thought of what 4Kids did to the show... I am very, very glad that I never actually watched it.
