This seems to be the course of movies and animation today. Who needs to produce a good quality horror movie with a believable story when you can throw in a bunch of gore and screamers to shock people? Who needs to produce a good animation with a decent story and deep characters when you can just create an audience off of morbid curiosity and shock-value? This shit is the remedy to a lack of creativity. Everything's going downhill. Fuck.

You really need to learn to avoid things you don't like. It'll do you good. You can commit composition fallacies all you want, but niche genres are niche.

The general horror genre is niche? It seems to me that older horror movies (whether intentional or because of technology) creeped you out with a good story and suspense. Movies today seem to just throw in a ton of gore and have those unexpected screamers to get the crowd going. I miss the days when I would be genuinely freaked out at the thought of something or someone and not having an inevitable heart-rush because someone played off my instincts.

I do avoid it, though. This is my reasoning.
