Do we recon that FF will be with us before xmas?
Do we recon that FF will be much more popular than TF2 when released? Looking at the vid, FF looks fantastic - good job. TF2 looks absolute Sh*t. |

Why would they wait for the release of TF2? It only benefits FF to release before TF2 and establish a community before TF2 is out there.

Wooohoooo
Great Video, so happy to see dustbowl in action
Seems FF has finally come together, to make what looks like a kick-ass TC. Can't tell ya how happy I am it's almost done, especially since TF2 seems... How should I put this... Lacking. Too bad we can't all join in the beta, but we've waited this long I guess we can wait a little longer. We're available though, in case you change your mind *wink wink* |

I would just like to add . . .
175%-speed-cap Bunnyhopping (BHing) has NEVER been seen as cheap from players who learned how to do it (lest the player couldn't do it as well as the average player).
There is not a TFC player alive who can bunnyhop as well as me, or better, who would tell me it's cheap - especially when it comes to sentry guns. Thus all the arguments against BH-ing are moot. It is only the CS and Unreal type of players (who transfered over to TFC) who don't like it because it adds even more skill to the game. TFC is great for allowing infinite room for a player to improve their play skills. No other FPS game has incorporated as much room for skill development (have to strafe and manage speed while having to aim really seperates the dorks from the nerds :P ) +Players won't die usually from one hit, live with it :P Yes I know there are assumptional questions here (in that ohh well rich people don't complain about things the poor do, yet the poors POV is valid).... yes, but this is TFC and part of TFC is bunnyhopping, it just is, it defined the game. I would be reluctant to play if not for the complex movement the game allows which makes it much more interesting to people who don't game while on drugs or just to say NOOB NOOB and then die 2 seconds later and yell HACKS HACKS and then lose interest. We all know in TFC the average FPS players went "HUH WTF that guy is too good (while they knew the person didn't hack - atleast they couldnt significantly with CTF classes"). This is how it should be. TFC has more room for individuality to come through in the game. Last edited by o_moogle; 09-20-2006 at 05:17 PM. |

OoOoOo
Also, in TFC it was possible to gain over 200% movement speed (while the 175% speed cap was in place) while just bunnyhopping. Will this still be allowed?
For instance - case in point - You are going 174% speed and land on the ground and press jump again and then strafe in the air reaching over 200% speed on your final jump before landing? Cause in this case the speed cap would actually be over 200% in FF :P - if you guys didn't know ;P (there is always that last strafe before landing). So would you snap back to 170% after landing? Oh man that would be kind of cool as the top players would be hitting 200% speeds while the others would think we had hacks |

Dude I think you're in the wrong thread.
As for the limit... you wouldn't "snap back" ever, the limit is fluid and moderately slows you back down to it, so while you can exceed it, it's difficult to do (as it pulls you back slowly) and doesn't last long. But yeah... was anyone discussing bhop here?
