Thats the only way i can play! Except my grens keys are above shift. I have tyred default's and feels far to strange. That is one of the main reasons i change the default WASD was because I'd keep pressing every other key around them. And would have taken to long to get used to.

Hah I didn't read the thread initially, then I noticed that pic. I added the "bonkers" item to the poll solely for people like Nar :P

my mate used to play for 4 Kings, playing Quake. He had invert mouse, alt and ctrl as strafe and A as jump and the mouse keys as forwards and backwards...wierd.

as for me I used WASD, space jump, and shift as gren2, as i always play scout I dont have gren2 or attack bound to a overused key.

wasd although I do like the look of tfgh!

I have a friend that uses the arrows. I scream at him a lot.

He rings me up and says, why can't I zoom in Far Cry? 'Cos you re-bound all the f'kin keys I yell - already knowing what he's done before he explains.

Arrrrghhhh!!11

I use basically the same setup in any HL game (1 or source)

Arrowkeys for movement
Mouse1: attack
mouse2: jump
mouse3: reload
mwheelup/down: previous/next item
mouse4: primary gren (I just started using this. I used to use kp_end, and this button to walk)
mouse5: voice (Same as in vent for me)
Ctrl: Secondary grenade
kp_ins: duck
kp_leftarrow: special
enter: use
shift: menu

I had had the 2 3 5 6 7 8 9 numpad buttons bound to all sorts of sg building scripts. I think I re-bound del end and pgdn to flaginfo medic and drop flag or something. Home is bound to disconnect

I use wasd for every other game though, especially games like farcry where you need about 45 buttons.

It's so much easier not having to rebind keys in every game for WASD'ers

Arrow Keys here:
Up->jump
Left/Right->strafe
Down->back
Mouse 1->forward
Mouse 2->fire
Shift->gren 2
Enter->gren 1
Ctrl->duck
End->use

That pretty much covers everything

[FFM]-AC/DC you just made them up

Why on earth would anyone complicate keys that much. When most games use WASD or Arrow keys for directional movement. It just makes sense.

arrowkeys
i do have a problem with insufficient available keys close by for all the functions i need (especially dire, when playing engineer, since i need build/stop buid/detonate sg, dispenser and teleportpads, rotate sg etc. in addition to all the normal functions).
my mouse only has 3 buttons (bound fire, gren1, gren2) and no mousewheel, which aggravates the problem.

I agree the WASD format gives you more functionality. Because if using Arrows you limited on what keys to set as you dont want to me moving your hand to far.
But i still use Arrows, i just always have.

I get around that by only playing one FPS.

Any setup where you have to use your non mouse hand is weak. My setup everything is in reach. I also have a pro mouse for grenade spamming.

That's the best setup evar. Really comfortable. My dad uses that one and I kinda adopted it in my early TF years. Never looked back.
Wow, I thought I was the only one to use something like this. Only mine is reversed with E/R being strafes and D/F being forward backward. I usually keep duck on S but in TFC it's my detpipe button since I don't duck that much. I came up with that wacky setup playing quake on mplayer when someone said I should use a mouse/keyboard combo instead of just using the keyboard. I mess up a lot if I try and use a WASD style setup.

Rounding out my keys I have:
Mouse2: Gren1
A: Gren2
Mhweel up: Bound to whatever the primary weapon of the class is
Mhweel down: Bound to whatever the second weapon of the class is
S: Detpipe
V: Throw Flag
X: Use

So, how many other people have noticable wear on their movement keys? On just about every keyboard I have used to game with the D key becomes deformed and the letter gets worn off.
