Hi,

I don't really play all that often, so I guess you could consider me new. All I can really think of when I play this game is that it feels perfect. I don't mean that to flatter or to otherwise overly praise this mod. But afters years of being a TFC player, all I can really think is that this is exactly what was needed to fix the entire concept of Team Fortress (Use to play TF2 all the time until it utterly bored me to near-death). I can't really think of ways to make it more popular. Best thing I can think of is to inquire on purchasing a source indie license, and then just sell it on steam for a few dollars. The theory being that people will pay much more attention to it if it's extremely cheap and accessible because people on steam pay more attention to what is cheap than what is being given away for free.

Not exactly sure what the devs standpoint is on that. It would require a ton of tweaking and replacing to the various objects and effects that were left over from HL2.

and who gets the profits from it? there have probably been well over 100 people who have contributed to the development of this mod from its idea stage until now.

I think this is the bigger problem, there really is no one you can give the money to. You can't pay all the beta testers or all the people who contributed code or all the people who made textures and sounds.

the only way I could possibly see that working is using the money for tournament prizes (and even then, who could we trust enough to hold all the money and use it specifically for tournament purposes?). As I doubt anyone on the FF team even wants to consider letting anyone at Valve lay a single finger on FF lest we spend hours every day farming hats and different skins for the grenades.

if someone want to paypal me 1000 dollars ill acept :P but tbh i did those servers cuse i hated snt servers rules and always same 5 maps :P so i made my own to have a proper place to play, but isnt too expensive I spend + money in a night out then a montly server payment .x but back to topic, unfortenely euro pickup is a bit dead .< last pickup was 13 days ago .x

Saving boobs aside....

How's the website being funded right now, part of the money can go to pay for the website and improvements and stuff.

Could also use the money to to hire a freelance animator.

Soo many ideas seem to come to an end when a Dev replys to a thread stating "We need an animator for that".

It's not like you'd have to hire him full time, just comprise a small list of things you need done once every 4-5 months, and get him to do it.

It's not like you'd be rebuilding the game or anything, but a few minor tweaks and changes here and there could really improve on the game.

It, would be like running some charity event. Everyone on the staff that organises it is usually a volunteer. But then if you wanted to hold a dance, and needed music? You're usually gonna pay the band or dj.

However you wanna phrase the analogy is up to you, the point is the same though. "Why does one person get payed when nobody else does?" Because you need a specific service from that person, and if you can't get it for free you'll need to pay for it.

Otherwise you're always going to be limited in the changes you want to do, until you maybe come across someone who'll work for free.

It's a slippery slope though, because then it makes people working on coding, mapping, textures, etc. feel more like they're second class citizens since they're not paid to do this.
