Error Verifying Steam UserID Ticket

I get this problem with FF, but no other game, whenever I try to connect to a server.

The Valve "proposed fixes" did nothing, and neither restarting Steam nor restarting my computer has helped.

I deleted all of my Steam files, and I am reinstalling Day of Defeat Source, then reinstalling Fortress Forever to try to alleviate this issue. I'm not sure if this will work though.

Has anyone here had this issue before? If so, what did you do to fix it?

I get the same today. I loaded up FF, connect to a server and get that error about 10 seconds after connecting. I restarted Steam with no luck, deleted the dll/blob files in my steam directory with no luck and even rebooted my computer.

Finally, I loaded up CS:S and played it just fine. I've since submitted a ticket to Steam support.

Thanks for the reply! I tried CSS and it worked perfectly for me too. I have not submitted a ticket yet; I would deeply appreciate it if you post Valve's response on these forums.

Here's hoping. I'm just glad it's not a virus on my part, or something equally terrible.

Hey Kube,

I reinstalled Steam, DoDS, and FF, and FF seems to be working now. Just thought I'd let you know. Still interested to see what Valve has to say.
