This game is probably the only power in the universe that could motivate me to buy a PS3, and I haven't even ever played a Metal Gear game.

The PS3?

Yes. Some versions will do more games than others. Specifically, the 80GB will do a ton of PS2 games with the 40GB able to do a ton of PS1 games.

Edit: The PS2 was here before the X-Box and it was PSX backwards compatible and it was 100% backwards compatible with all PSX games except for maybe a few.

I bought Metal Gear Solid 3 for $5 about three weeks ago. Played it for five minutes.

I was all "Maybe this one will be good!" and so far it's just not.

i loved mgs 1 and 2, played 3 for a little bit and just felt pretty "meh"

4 looks good, but definitely not a reason for me to buy a ps3.

now tekken 6, god of war 3, and a new castlevania game... THOSE are reasons for me to buy a ps3.

I couldn't stand 3 either... Loved 1 and 2 though, even if 2 was a bit of a step down from the original.

For MGS fans of course, this will be huge. Not to mention the next-gen game, but also the fact that everything storyline wise will finally come full circle.

Idk...MGS 1 was great...I played that game like a million times. MGS 2 just felt like a movie to me...it wasn't really that good and I beat it way too quickly...never played 3 much. I have it on the psp, but I don't really play it often and it sucks on there anyway. I might have to buy it sometime, but idk. Still cool that it's coming out I'm just not supper stoked.

NOW smashbro's on the Wii is pure win!
