Being Poor

I guess this is just a thread about being poor. Are you poor? Have you been poor before, but you're ok now? Were you once rich but are now tasting poverty? I don't know people. Share your stories.

I, for one, I guess would be defined as "OK". I mean, were I single I would be considered "well off" for my age (21). I make good money but I support my fiance (until she gets out of college this spring... then we'll be rollin!!!) and I'm saving up as much as possible for our wedding next fall (though her parents are very rich... I probably don't have to but I feel I should... good for the honeymoon right?). I grew up poor after my parents divorced, so I guess I'm just used to not spending my money.

My parents both make more than the average Canadian does, but for some reason we always have to be careful with money. I think it because they pay off debts as fast as possible. They won't even need the standard 25 years or whatever it is to pay off their mortgage which is very nice. Then they can give me all the money that they normally would have spent on it.

Man I've been poor my enitre life! Always lived in discounted housing from the state and been on foodstamps, etc. I'm just now finally starting to get to *almost* ok with the job I'm in now!

Grew up poor as can be. I was living it up in the big life but I lost my ex future wife, job, and apartment in the same week. Now I'm alone and I consider myself "Ok". I'm doing better than either of my parents ever did but then it isn't too hard to not do that either haha.

At 16 it's hard to call. At one point I was doing awesome, 'cause my parents were both raking it in and we had the biggest fucking house. Then they split, we downsized, my marks in school took a big hit etc. So now we're like scraping by, but personally I'm working for the first time in my life so I personally am doign awesome.

Once I move out though... different matter. I think I'm a marry a rich girl.

Hmmmm....... I consider myself as doing alright. I've got a good job(meaning one I LOVE!), and make enough to make ends meet, and still leave enough to buy some things I like.

I'd probably be doing alot better if I stopped drinking beer. That's a $50 a week habit. Ah fuck it....I quit smoking over a year ago, and some of that money goes into my other addictions.....tattoos and old video games.

my family and i where low class, then a lucky day our 3 crappy propieties that we bought in front of a empty space full of rapists and junkies turn into a mall and now its a medium-high class neighbor, we rented the departments and with some smart invertions, we $tarted to grow up, then we got in the real state business and we managed to get to the medium kinda sorta high im now.

I think if you have enough money to do the things you need to do, and a little extra to do the things you want to do you're well off.

I break even every month with my checks and stuff. But I have a roof over my head and can eat. Plus my comp. So I'm happy. I don't really need much more money.

...I could use it.
