I think the one with blue & red blood (paint) looks good. Drop the simple "FOREVER" text in there. I think that'll make a good loading screen for the game.

For the actual Icon though, I think the back-to-back F designs should be used for that. They are just too good to dissapear into nothingness. (and I think the infinity f, without the infinity part would make it look even MORE like fireworks logo).

The last example had the blue on the left side (around the red glow). Your example has the blue on the right (around the blue glow). I assume it's the same shade of blue as the first example. But it doesn't look the same I don't think. Must be the difference in contrast or something. To me it looks like a dark navy, almost black. I do like having it on that side though... so I think this could be fixed by just lightening up the blue (just slightly) to make it more defined from the background.

It's very close IMO. Good work guys.

You could take two photos of the pentagon and splice them togther over a different backdrop.

Damn.

I wish I could that.

I've got the admit, the latest version of the infinity logo posted above looks fantastic. Its silly, but the change of background has made all the difference for me. That would look superb as the background to the in-game menu.

As somebody raised earlier, its now a matter of developing the logo to be used in other situations such as desktop icons and website banners.

ya I was mainly thinking of the in game menu and how plain the infinities background is (dont get me wrong that infinity looks awesome!!!) and I thought it would be cool to have the old tfc splash as a bg (not solid bg cuz it looks bad). Specialy with the only word there "forever" its like TF/tfc forever ect. Has a good message I think.

I think that the bg could perhaps have maybe some more details in it (current menus usualy have some models or something) so maybe adding those in softly (as in still transparent cuz solid would take away from the infinity which is the main part) some how would be good. But who knows simplicity is good.

Dont wanna be a dramaqueen but is it 'legal' to rip the background from tfc and use it for anotehr mod?

YOU RE GONNA GET SUED FOR A MILION BUCKS

Nar seems to have hit the nail on the head, i dont think that blue... blood does anything for the design at all. If you gave the main F a multiply outglow instead of a drop shadow it might draw more attention to it.

Besides a little bit of tweaking to with the little fixing bars underneath i dont think there is much that needs to be changed to the design itself. Perhaps give the metal more texture with the dodge and burn tool.

As for it being too similar to the flash logo, in its context i dont see how you can have it apart of the infinity symbol without it resembling it.

I don't think so, because....

1. TFC was never released as a sale-able product (at least not directly). It was just a mod, so I doubt they would have any registered trademarks.
2. It is not the logo. Just a background that they put the logo onto. If anything was registered I'm sure it was only the logo portion.
3. I quite honestly think that valve won't be making a TFC:S because they know that the fans will fill that void (look, they are right now)
4. The more people who play this mod, the more people who buy valves product. So causing trouble for the mod makers, would be foolish on their part.

no way cuz there are plenty of modes that use the textures and wads from valve released games.

Plus I believe you can even use textures/pics/models ect from other games. It would be cheap and the community wouldnt care for it but as long as you are not making money off of your mod you'd be fine.

Not true. Using that logic you would be able to give people copies of CDs as long as you don't make a profit. They OWN their textures and the rights to their games even if there aren't copyright signs eveywere.
