It works both ways. On Odin's, I've seen tons of flag chasing with no punishment, and I've seen it win games too.

Imo, if someone's server is run a way that a lot of this small, but growing community disagrees with, they should know about it and the best way to tell them is to either visit the server and wait for an admin or post on the forums. If a server's rules are ruining the fun for most people, admins have a right to know. People shouldn't just say "this server sucks, I'm never coming back" and leave forever. They should give input back to the community. SME is suggesting that everyone just shut up and let the server die out. Server admins should be doing all they can to accommodate the communities wants/needs.

You've assumed that this is the reason the game was won and wouldn't have been won otherwise.

Odin's isn't adminned for shit anymore on TFC, iunno about their FF server though. If they did half as well as they did in TFC then their FF server is doomed, too.

They're adminning the shit out of it. I played yard d once, and got bitched at to high hell. Then when I started discussing med defense, I was banned.

Unfortunately, the server in question, and it's admins will usually just say "Then GTFO", so really the best thing to do is vote with your feet, and tell others not to play there.

I already know a server in my list, who has mistreated players in the past, becoming empty because of their attitude - serves them right. Instead of listening to feedback from their visitors, they decide to kick or ban them instead. Then they end up playing with 3 players on an empty server

I'm no celebrity, but I have my share of friends online or otherwise, and they trust my judgement on what a good server and one that isn't, and will usually come play on the server I am on. So for myself, simply voting with my play hours, is very effective - as there may now be up to 10 less players available on that one server because of it.

Good point, but unfortunately server admins don't see the gaming community as a symbiotic relationship. They think they are providing a service to the gamer, and therefore can do what they want. Though I do believe players should be respectful on servers in general, there are many occurences of admin abuse that just doesn't need to happen - usually caused by outrageous rules that most will not follow, knowingly or otherwise - which just causes more kicks and bans than a normal server would.
