Did anyone get a Wii?

I didn't preorder cause of reasons beyond my control. So, I guess I'll just try and get one before the end of the year. They couldn't have sold all 4 million, could they?

My friends and I all got Wiis. It was worth the 10 hour wait in line.

Just played quite a bit of Call of Duty 3. The controls aren't as bad as I thought they'd be. I can already tell I'm a lot better the mote/nunchuck setup than the noobsticks, but still doesn't the beat mouse (with more practice, it may be just as good).

I am pretty sure big title like Zelda/Mario etc, are $50, while other games are probably like $30-40.

I had one pre-ordered and picked it up yesterday. Got Super Monkey Ball for it and 3 extra remotes. My arm is killing me now from playing monkey ball for hours last night with a couple of my friends.

Oh? I guess those are reasonable prices.

Could you tell me how it connects to the internet too? Just through your normal ISP? Or d'you have to pay for something extra, like Xbox Live?

You all sound like your having fun.

I think game makers should make things so that, people with computers and consoles can play the same games together online. So like, playing HL2. Makes it more reasonable for someone who can't afford the newest dual core Pentium whatsit processors.

It connects wirelessly using your normal internet connection. It's completely free. You can't do much with the online stuff now other than buy Virtual Console games and add friends to send eachother messages and transfer your Mii (kinda like your profile/avatar) to other Wiis.

Also, if you are looking for a console that will allow people to play eachother on PC as well that's going to be the Xbox 360. Microsoft is trying to do that with Windows Live.

Wii claims first victim - a 60-inch TV

Wrist-strapping mismap

By Inquirer Newsdesk: Monday 20 November 2006, 14:49

EXCITED WII USERS should learn to take it easy on their Wiimote, if one gamer's experience is anything to go by.

Something Awful forum user 'Tuxedo Jack' tells his tragic tale, and of how a friend enthusiastically playing Wii sports managed to impale a 60-inch rear-projection TV.

So, why weren't the gamers wearing Ninty's trusty wrist strap, designed to prevent such incidents from happening in the first place? Well, it turns out they were wearing the wrist strap, until it decided to snap mid-bowling and send the Wiimote hurtling towards the pricey kit.

Over enthusiastic gamers be warned. Pictures can be found in this thread - if you're not a member, just scroll down past the registration prompt.
