Ping times?
I'm looking at getting a server in Ireland so that east coast north americans and all of europe can ping decent.
While looking at the map of connections... I wonder if Hawaii would be a good place for west coast north americans to play with aussies with equal pings... Could narrow the world gap on PC gaming. |

Turns out London to Boston is 85 ms.
If we have a number of UK players, I'll get a UK server |

I don't think theres any USA to europe cables that come onshore in ireland, I think the majority come in around cornwall / devon / somerset area and even then they may be linked directly through london.

I was thinking this. I expect they go through the UK too. Worth finding out before you commit. Plus for all intent and purposes the difference from Ireland probably isn't particularly significant.
