Why not sticky a "When is it done ?"-Thread ?
Complete with the "when it's done" answer (I'm sure 3D Realms will sue you, if they ever found out that you're working until you're done as well...)

Ah yes, but there's the part about them not knowing when it's going to come out. So if they put out a lengthy release date, people will make threads liek 'omg y so long lol' and if they put out a date and go past it, people will make threads like 'omg missed deadline lol', so it wouldn't help.
People should just be less stupid and read the faq. |

"When it's done" is a terminal symbol. It's not to be changed to a precise date, a vague guess or anything at all, except for - possibly - "we don't know"
