A question about Defrag's dev journal.
I don't really understand what he was talkin about. Could someone explain it in simplicity for me? And how much better is it going to effect the development? (faster? easier? etc.)

Basically, when we tried to place/use resources in a map, we had to sift through tonnes of unrelated stuff that was showing up due to Hammer picking up SVN resources. SVN is the source control software we use -- it keeps revisions of every single bit of FF so we can roll back to old versions, retrieve old code/textures/models etc.
So, every time I wanted to place a model, I had to scroll past a whole set of SVN results. Every time I wanted to choose a sound, I had to make sure not to choose the SVN version. Same deal with textures (though mirv sorted that by writing an exclude script). |

Don't try to understand the Defrag. Our mortal conciousnesses cannot wrap around the Defrag. Do not anger the Defrag. Do not feed the Defrag.
